After 4 days in London we picked up the rental van and here we are in Burton upon Trent. What a simply wonderful Uncle I have in Peter. Yet again he has given unstintingly of hospitality and generosity and makes Burton upon Trent seem like home. We have spent the past 3 weeks fixing our "Kon Tiki" motorhomes, getting the old one ready for sale whilst at the same time getting our new steed "Harriet" (which was actually far better than we both expected) up to scratch and ready for all our future travels
![]() Our old quite large 6-sleeper 6 metre Swift "Kon Tiki" on the right with our amazing new 8.2m monster "Harriet" on the left Darling has worked like a trojan and has many dings implanted in his poor head. Oh Dear. Just one night of concern. A particularly heavy blow to Darlings head - he shook it off and the evening proceed etc. Get to bed, and Darling is sniffing excessively, saying, I need a tissue. On exiting the bed I thought, how revolting, he's snotted on me! Couple of minutes later he said, oh dear, I'm haemorraging. Who could believe it. Darling suffered a huge nose bleed through to 4a.m. It did cross my mind to get him to a hospital, but I didn't know where one was?? Then of course, with all the anxiety, I fell into a deep sleep. Poor Darling, as always, suffering in silence! On that grave note I will continue travelling now and get back to you all very soon. Hope this finds each and everyone of you hale and hearty. Love from the Gypsy Travellers. |
